Aeon's End: The New Age is the fourth major standalone expansion for the critically acclaimed cooperative deck-building game franchise published by Indie Boards & Cards. It supports 1 to 4 players, takes roughly 60 minutes per session, and can be played entirely on its own or combined with any other Aeon's End content.
Key Features & Mechanics
- The Expedition System: This expansion permanently changes how the franchise is replayed. It introduces a repeatable, 4-battle mini-campaign structure. After finishing the initial narrative mode, you can use these rules to build custom, randomized expeditions mixing all the mages, markets, and bosses you own.
- Power Progression (Treasures): Winning battles in an expedition rewards players with powerful "Treasure" cards. These treasures attach directly to your breach mages to give them unique passive buffs or upgraded starters.
- Escalating Nemesis Difficulty: As your mages get stronger, the threat scales with them. The game includes "Upgraded Basic Nemesis Cards" that swap into the enemy's deck for subsequent battles to make them progressively tougher.
- No-Shuffle Deck Building: It retains the signature core mechanic of the franchise: you never shuffle your deck. When your draw pile is empty, you simply flip over your discard pile, meaning the order in which you cast and discard spells dictates your future card synergy.
